Fish Preservation Training and Workshop

Pleased to inform you that SPBD Munda is conducting its second round of fish preservation training programme on November 11th at SPBD Munda office and November 15th for clients of Rendova Habour. Major training area includes fish drying, curing, smoking, pickling and canning method. We are inviting SPBD clients, family and community.
There is a very high level of fishing and fish marketing in and around Munda. SPBD clients commonly catch fish and sell them to Honiara or do local sales. The majority of the clients have no proper deep freezer and freezing equipment for selling to distance markets.
There are times when there is more availability of fish and due to

bad weather or other circumstances they face difficulty for fish storage at home. To help solve this problem to some extent SPBD Munda decided to conduct training on a low budget and quick fish preservation techniques. This training and workshop will help food security at home and also help them in the utilisation of fish products for the good business in local and regional business.
